This is so depressing
My poor fishies are sick :(
Its been over 2 weeks since I spotted white spots on powder brown and blue tang :( was counting on my 13 watt UV and the fishies immunity ...waiting to see if they would heal on their own. Now blue tang still eats like a piggy but powder brown has stopped eating :( I am so darn worried.

I also tried to clean the copepods off the insides of the tank with a magnet wiper but still the copepods returned in full force
In my efforts to add bioballs to the filterbox in the middle of my tank, i dropped some into the tank. and havent been able to retrieve them
Are my live rocks dying?
I spotted "smoke"-like whitish fumes "erupting" from one of my most colourful live rock pieces.
in my efforts to fish it out to sniff it .. to check if it was rotting or dying...i messed up the entire ZEN rock display creation ...now i cant fix it back :(
Maybe Im not cut out to be a marine fish masak guppy :(

everyone fights with the ich when they set up their tank initially. it's perfectly normal, don't be discouraged. those stuff that you wipe off the glass surface are ich, not copepod.
if you have a fish only tank without coral, besides UV (btw, your UV not big enough for a tank of this size), the other proven method to treat ich is hypo salinity treatment. just a fancy name for using less salty water for 6 weeks.
you can read up on the internet on how to do it, and you must maintain the SG at 1.009 for 6 weeks to kill the ich.
after the ich are gone, you can raise the SG back to 1.022
but u will always run the risk of introducing ich again when you buy new fishes. so, it's either u do hypo SG once a while, or you will need to quarantine your new introduction for ich treatment before putting them into the main tank.
btw, if your tangs got lots of ich on their body, and they stopped eating. it's a matter of time that they will die.
my experience is that once tangs got ich and stopped eating, they never eat again, and will eventually die ... even when the ich has dropped off their body.
